President Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen will spend three years in prison. A federal judge in New York set the sentence today in connection with Robert Mueller's [[ MULL-ers ]] election probe and a related case from Manhattan prosecutors. Cohen pleaded guilty to tax fraud, banking fraud and violations of campaign finance laws.        Michael Cohen left the New York courthouse without speaking to reporters after being sentenced to three years on tax and campaign finance violations. His wife and children exited and all were visibly shaken. In addition to the three-year prison sentence, Judge William Pauley imposed more than one-million-dollars in restitution. Cohen has been ordered to surrender on March 6th.       Authorities in France are identifying the person responsible for the deadly Christmas market shooting as Islamic extremist "Cherif C". Three people were killed and a dozen wounded. Several reports claim Cherif C yelled "God is Great" in Arabic as he opened fire. Officials are still searching for the 29-year-old Cherif, who has a criminal record in several European countries.        Today's 4.4 magnitude earthquake in Tennessee is the second strongest to ever be felt in the eastern portion of the state. This morning's earthquake was centered around Decatur, about two-and-a-half hours southeast of Nashville, and hit around 4:15 a.m. A magnitude 3.3 aftershock was also felt. Residents in Atlanta as well as in Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina and Kentucky also felt the quake.        U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is calling for a better way to communicate food recalls. She says a law requiring grocers to inform shoppers of contamination is already on the books, but has not been implemented by the FDA. Gillibrand is calling on the Trump Administration to enforce the regulations to protect consumers from threats that may be lurking in stores.       The nominations for the 25th annual SAG Awards are out. A Star Is Born leads the film nominees with a total of four, for the award show's silver anniversary. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Ozark lead with four nominations apiece on the TV side. The SAG Awards will be held on January 27th in Los Angeles.
