Michael Cohen will be spending the next three years behind bars. In a New York courtroom today, a federal judge handed down the sentence to President Trump's former personal lawyer for committing tax and bank fraud, along with campaign finance violations. Cohen was ordered to forfeit 500-thousand dollars and is being forced to pay more than one-million in restitution and a 50-thousand dollar fine.        Protestors are staging demonstrations at Michigan's state capitol over controversial bills in the lame duck legislature. Dozens chanted slogans today including "Clean Water!" and "Lame Duck!" as they rallied against what they call a power grab by Republicans. Republicans have floated a number of bills that would limit or change the powers of the incoming Governor, Attorney General and Secretary of State who are all Democrats.       Researchers at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine are releasing their report on the diplomats who suffered neurological injuries while working at the embassy in Cuba. The report found that more than a dozen people suffered injuries similar to a concussion in 2016. The U-M research team can't determine if the workers were victims of some kind of attack or if it was a natural phenomenon. The State Department is continuing its investigation.       The Federal Communications Commission is making it clear that wireless carriers can block spam or other unwanted text messages. The FCC voted 3-to-1 today to classify text messages as an information service instead of a telecommunications service. Democrats warned the decision will let carriers block or censor texts sent by customers.        CBS News is settling a lawsuit filed by a trip of women who claim they were sexually harassed by journalist Charlie Rose. The lawsuit claimed that Rose made physical contact with the women, including caressing, touching and kissing them, and that CBS was fully aware of his behavior. A statement from CBS said the matter has been resolved, and that the settlement amount is confidential.        Legendary former Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka says the heart attack he suffered last month was a massive one. He told the Dan Pompei [[ POM-pay ]] of the Athletic that the heart issue happened while he was golfing in Florida. The reports say doctors inserted four stents and a pacemaker while he was hospitalized for close to ten days.
